2024 State Champs

Date, Time, and Location

WSBA Cross Country Mountain Bike State Championships races will be Saturday, May 11, 2024 at crowd favorite, Swan Creek Park. Navigate to the new Swan Creek MTB and Dog Park Parking lot, just past Lister Elementary School in Tacoma Washington, and proceed through the gate to the field to park near staging.

9:00am: All Cat 3 (Beginner), Juniors U15, 2 laps ~55-90 minutes, Juniors U13, Juniors U10, 1 lap ~35+ minutes

10:30am: Juniors U17, Juniors U19, Cat 2 60+, Clydesdale/Athena, 3 laps ~70-100 minutes

12:00pm: All Cat 1 (Expert), 4 laps ~85-115 minutes

1:30pm: Cat 2 Open, Cat 2 40+, Cat 2 50+, Singlespeed, 3 laps ~70-100 minutes

Here is our TENTATIVE course. Please note that you cannot preride it in race-direction during normal park hours.

FAQ

Do I need to qualify to race state championships? Nope! Anyone can register and race.

Do I need to be a Washington State resident? Not to race, no! But only WA residents are eligible for state championship jerseys.

Why are the categories different? Since this is part of WSBA, we are adjust our usual Westside categories to align closer with their system.

What is racing-age? Racing age is a way to standardize age brackets to ensure someone does not age out of their group mid-season. This is standard practice in racing internationally and regionally. The USAC website has more details on the topic.

Do I need a USAC or WSBA license? Nope! Just sign up!
